This January Wind

This January wind breathes a gap into my chest--
This searing pain of emptiness feeding on my bones.
I fumble through the crowd of faces and fumble on for breath
And to the ignition to feel the heat, but I am still alone.
Please breathe in me deeper than this January wind.
Please touch me past the warmth coming through these vents.
Take my hand in Your hand; hold me close tonight.
And when the sun returns, do not leave my side.
Let this peircing January be like
The zeal I long to have inside.
And let the warmth from these vents
Be like the comfort when we blend.
